Logical fallacy

Conjunction fallacy

Also known as: Linda problem
Fairly common#52 of 71 by how common ← All logical fallacies
Dobelli #41Kahneman #7

What it is

Judges a combination of events as more probable than one of them alone, though a conjunction can never be more likely than either part.

Example "Linda is a bank teller and active in the feminist movement" feels likelier than "Linda is a bank teller".
